According to supply chain sources, Microsoft will launch a foldable Surface computer in the first half of 2020. As reported by Forbes Magazine, the device will be powered by Windows 10, but will also be able to run Android apps. There’s a special version of Windows 10 being developed, optimised for dual display user interfaces.
It’s not clear if the Android apps will run natively, or emulated on the device. The foldable Surface will have a 9 inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio when unfolded. The CPU will be an Intel branded, 10 nanometer system-on-a-chip from the Lakefield type. The tablet will come in LTE and 5G versions.
