Lenovo teases laptop with foldable display

Chinese computermaker Lenovo has announced it’s working on the ThinkPad X1 laptop with a 2K foldable display. The device was shown during a company presentation in Orlando, Florida. The laptop has no physical keyboard, but comes with an external Bluetooth keyboard and stylus.

World’s first

It’s the world’s first PC with foldable screen. Lenovo says: “This is not a phone, tablet, or familiar hybrid; this is a full-fledged laptop with a foldable screen.”

Coming next year

The laptop runs Windows and is powered by a Intel CPU (specs unknown). It has a 13.3-inch touchscreen that can fold in half and is produced by LG Display in Korea. The prototype that Lenovo showed weighs 2 pounds. It will come commercially available in 2020. Price has yet to be announced.
