New rumoured specs of the Motorola Razr folding smartphone leaked out yesterday via tech site XDA-Developers. Its processor specifications and memory configuration seem to be mid-range with a Snapdragon 710 application chip and only 6Gb of RAM. How does this device compare to the two other foldables that have been announced, the Huawei Mate X and the Samsung Galaxy Fold? Foldable News puts them side-be-side.
Clearly, the Motorola phone has the lowest specs, with a lower resolution screen, less memory, smaller battery and slower processor. However, it introduces a new form-factor that many industry observers believe may become very popular: the flip phone. It allows users to have a regular fullsize 6 inch smartphone display in a compact form factor. The smartphone becomes pocketable again. Just that pocketability made the original Razr such a hot selling device.
