Chinese manufacturer Oppo will show a prototype or concept of a flexible phone design two days before the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Productmanager Chuck Wang, told Dutch tech blog Tweakers that it had no final models to show, but will outline its plans to the press and industry on Feb 23 during a presentation in a hotel.
Oppo has invited the press to an event at the Sophia hotel where it is likely to unveil some of its new models including one with 10 times optical zoom. Flexible displays are something the company is working on, but it told Tweakers not to expect a final announcement, but more of a road map.
Oppo is one of the fastest growing Chinese mobile phone brands. It’s expanding its business rapidly in Europe and the United States.
