Royole sold flexible displays worth half billion dollars in last quarter

Chinese company Royole says it received orders worth about 4 billion yuan ($593.88 million) for flexible displays and related products in the fourth quarter of 2018. The company told Chinese newspaper Global Times that it can mass product the displays, whereas competitor Xiaomi is only showing a prototype made by another company (according to sources: Visionox), referring to the much discussed Xiaomi tri-foldable phone. “The claim that Xiaomi has mastered flexible display technology is openly fabricating facts,” Royole’s vice-president Fan Junchao is quoted as saying.

Royole was officially the first company to launch a foldable smartphone, last year, however the device was criticised for being to bulky and buggy.
